BA program in textile design
Textile materials and processes are evolving at a fast pace. The Swedish School of Textiles offers textile education from bachelor’s to doctoral levels. To support new students, doctoral students give lectures and do workshops on their projects, in that way students receive the newest findings regarding novel materials.
The Swedish School of Textiles’ well-equipped laboratories are unique and provide wonderful chances for students to enhance their talents. Manufacturing may be done in the same way as it is in the business, and students can make whatever they desire.
Smart Textiles, part of the Swedish School of Textiles, is where the newest in fiber creation is being tested in a range of research initiatives. What happens at Smart Textiles is included in the curriculum, allowing students to test and learn to improve their skills.
The bachelor’s degree in textile design seeks to improve the student’s aesthetic, technical, theoretical, and reflective qualities as a textile designer. From year one until the final degree project, the program offers practice-based studies in the form of a variety of project courses with progressive growth.

The application for the BA program in Textile design is open till April 4, 2022.
To apply you will need to fill out the application form Search for courses and programmes – Universityadmissions.se, verify your English knowledge (more about three main ways to fulfill the English proficiency requirements English language proficiency – University of Borås (hb.se) ), submit a portfolio, application project, and CV (template for CV modetextil_Ant18_eng.indd (hb.se) ).
Note – The digital application portfolio and CV should be uploaded no later than 20 April 2022!

Portfolio
Application portfolio must display the capacity to transform ideas derived from visual research (material collection and working with source materials) into final work (composition and technical skill). It is important to show in your portfolio the work process and that you have knowledge about the materials you are working with.

Assessment day
The next step of the application is the invitation to an assessment day. Applicants’ creative and technical talents will be examined on the assessment day. Also, your qualifications and other experience will be reviewed during interviews. Assessment day and the interviews are happening on the same day!
Tip – prepare for the interview beforehand, be ready to present yourself and your second assignment!
Note – If you are called to the assessment day please be prepared to show a textile sample of one of the materials from the second assignment (minimum 15x15cm in size).
