Your portfolio is a visual representation of your personality and your interests. That’s why you should put in effort in the way you communicate your thoughts and ideas to the viewer.

Scandinavian Design School offers three types of courses that can help you to create the best work. No matter of the experience, work, or knowledge.

Portfolio – Independent

This course is for;

A confident and experienced student who;

• already has a lot of designs or artworks,
• has decided their goals and knows what is needed to achieve them,
• wants to test their knowledge.

The course starts with a kick-off session with your teacher. There you will talk about challenges regarding the application process and how your skills can help.

Lessons

This course includes the core lessons for creating a portfolio, application, and motivation letter.

• Portfolio examples – you will be introduced to different portfolio styles.
• Portfolio content – will guide you on how to create the best portfolio content.
• Layout –  you will learn how to create a visually pleasing layout that goes in harmony with your work and your personal aesthetics.
• Application process & motivation letter – examples of different applications and instructions on how to write a motivation letter.

This course provides you with all the materials that are needed to create a stunning portfolio and an application & motivation letter that will make you stand out.

Portfolio – Interactive

This course is for;

Those who may not have enough material but are confident enough that they can handle the portfolio compiling process. Also for those who have a lot of work but are doubting their work and don’t know which works would suit the best.

In the kick-off session with the teacher, you will discuss your plans regarding your application. Together you will go through the requirements for the portfolio. Also, you will understand what the university looks for and what is the needed portfolio content. 

If during the kick-off you will realize that you don’t have enough works this course will give you the opportunity to create them.

Lessons 

This course includes four core lessons and three extra.

• Sketching & Ideation – this will help you to build up your portfolio with more material.
• Concept in Design – will help you to choose your portfolio content based on the theme of application and universities values.
• Portfolio Assignments – will provide you with different assignments that can help you to fulfill the missing parts in your portfolio. When the assignment will be done you will receive teachers’ feedback on it.

Your existing work + the new work that you will create with us will result in a good-looking portfolio and unique application & motivation letter.

Portfolio – Personal tutoring

This course is for;

• Those who don’t yet have any work and have to create their portfolio from a scratch. In this case, we would evaluate what would be needed for your portfolio and create the perfect schedule for you.
• Those who have decided to change their study direction and need a new portfolio (e.g. from industrial design to fashion design).
• Those who are not sure about their work.

This course includes not only a kick-off session but also you will have personal tutoring. You will be provided with constant support during the whole portfolio creation process.

Lessons

The course contains four core lessons and four extra.

• Sketching & Ideation – this will help you to build up your portfolio with more material.
• Concept in Design – will help you to choose your portfolio content based on the theme of application and universities values.
• Portfolio Assignments – will provide you with different assignments that can help you to fulfill the missing parts in your portfolio. When the assignment will be done you will receive teachers’ feedback on it.
• Portfolio tutoring – together with the teacher you will discuss your progress and receive feedback on assignments.

The course will help you to achieve your desired results no matter how experienced are you.

Lesson Library

There is also an opportunity for those who already have a ready portfolio but are in need of some polishing. 

Scandinavian Design School provides a Lesson Library where the students can choose the lessons that would be the most needed for them.
